Agency highlights the self-determination of Deaf and Disabled people. So often Deaf and Disabled people are denied power and agency in our own lives. These films proudly explore agency in storytelling. Revealing untold stories and ways of being in the world. Where Deaf and Disabled people are at the centre of storytelling – not marginalised, imitated, or spoken about.

The Other Film Festival is Australia’s first international disability film festival. Since 2004, it has become a leader in the global disability screen advocacy movement – championing Deaf and Disabled-led and authored work, uncovering untold stories and ways of being in the world, and developing a screen culture where Deaf and Disabled people are at the centre of storytelling – not marginalised, imitated, or spoken about.
