Tuesday 13 August: Copyright 101 for artists – presented by Anna Spies

Creating art means creating copyright. Let us guide you through owning and using your copyright, knowing your moral rights as well as creating copyright with other people. We’ll also cover what you need to know about putting your work online. This session uses practical examples to help make copyright accessible and, dare we say, fun for creatives.

Tuesday 20 August: Dotting the i’s: understanding arts contracts – presented by Chloe Hillary

Understanding your contract means gives you have the power to negotiate a better deal or get out of a bad contract. This session takes you through how to make and negotiate a contract and some of the key terms to look out for in those agreements. We’ll guide you to useful templates and explain how to get legal advice on those.

Both workshops are online, Auslan interpreted, with captioning via zoom.

We will send an email after the workshops with the slides from the workshop and some worksheets. The sessions are not recorded.

To register for one or both of these workshops, fill out the form below. Or if you have questions, please email Phil Noack or phone AAV reception on 03 9699 8299.
