In the second half of 2017, Art Day South began to develop a new body of work through the introduction of a range of instruments and recording devices. Participant artists explored their own interests in performance and the process resulted in an extensively recorded sound and video archive of rehearsed and improvised performative events that had taken place throughout the year. Much of this material was presented at the Arts Day South open studio in December where participant’s families and friends enjoyed a mini cinema and a display of participant artist’s drawings, paintings, sculptures, sets and costumes.
