Creative Lead Announced for Alter State

Caroline Bowditch has been announced as the Creative Lead for the Alter State festival.

Arts Access Victoria CEO/Artistic Director Caroline Bowditch joins Foundation artists, Carly Findlay OAM, Joshua Pether and Rodney Bell in shaping the Alter State festival.

Alter State is a major arts and disability festival for Australia and Aotearoa (NZ). Alter State is a partnership between Arts Access Victoria and Arts Centre Melbourne. Caroline Bowditch will work across the two organisations in the lead-up to the festival.

The festival will be held in late 2022 as a hybrid festival (online and in-person).

“Alter State will be the most vibrant, hybrid disability arts festival in the southern hemisphere,” Caroline Bowditch said.

“For me the real strength of Alter State is that it is disability-led, which I feel is essential. It really sets us up for what happens next in the creative industries.”
