The Other Film Festival is committed to providing access for all people.
So that we can provide a great film-going experience, a range of accessible services and facilities are available. Please advise us of any access requirements at the time of booking and every effort will be made to ensure you can attend with equity and ease.
Audio Description: is provided to enhance access for peple who are blind or vision impaired. Through the use of a small radio receiver, audience members can listen to a description of the visual aspects of the film during appropriate breaks in the dialogue. All films will be Audio Described. There are LCD screens available for use at your individual seat. Availability is limited so please book ahead. Audio Description is generously supported by Vision Australia.
Captioning: All films screened are captioned or subtitled.
Assistive Listening: Melbourne Museum’s The Age Theatre is equipped with an audio loop that and can be used to amplify or enhance sound quality. This system can be accessed from all seats in the theatre through the t-switch on a hearing aid.
Auslan Interpreters: In order to ensure access for the Deaf Community, Auslan interpreters are available at forums and selected sessions.
Wheelchair Access: All public areas of The Other Film Festival are accessible for people who require wheelchair access, including toilets. . As accessible seating locations are limited, it is advisable to book at earliest possible time.
Guide dogs are welcome.
Companion Card is accepted at all sessions and forums
Audio translation of Foreign Films is available at selected screenings.
