What is ‘Arts’? It’s not only art!
‘Arts’ with a big ‘A’ refers to the range of different art forms that make up ‘the Arts’.
‘art’ with small ‘a’ refers specifically to ‘visual arts’ – such as painting, drawing, sculpture, etc.
The Arts are a way of expressing pride, indentity, culture and more! The ‘Arts’ include many different ways of communicating feelings, emotions and being creative such as -
- Visual Arts - Painting, Drawing, Sculpture, Exhibitions of artwork, Crafts
- Performing Arts – Theatre, Directing, Acting (for theatre, film or TV), Dancing, Choreography, Sign-singing, Music (composing, playing instrument), Clown, Acrobat, Magician
- Multimedia (Films, TV, Online) – Filmmaking, Producing, Editing, Graphic Design, Directing
- Writing - Stories, Songs, Poetry, Scriptwriting, Playwriting
