What is DAN?

Deaf Arts Network (DAN) is an arts project for people who are deaf or hard of hearing, a community historically marginalised from participation in the arts and broader public life. One in six Australians has a hearing loss.

For the past eight years, DAN has produced an innovative culturally & linguistically inclusive arts workshop programme including hip hop, stencil art, photography, visual arts and circus skills.

DAN works with mainstream arts companies where deaf and hearing artists can collaborate together creating art that is inclusive.

DAN is unique in Australia and is a program of Arts Access Victoria, an arts organisation dedicated to social change and promoting creative, vibrant and diverse communities that value the contribution made by people with a disability across all areas of the arts.
