Arts Access Victoria is on the ground floor of a pale brick building on the corner of Dorcas Street and Eastern Road. The entrance is on Eastern Road – ours is the one with two marked disabled carparks outside and an automatic opening door. Once inside, there is a gentle slope with handrails to our reception area, and our toilets are fully accessible for wheelchair users.

By car or cab

Our building has two designated car parks for those with a disability parking permit, outside the entrance on Eastern Road.

Demand Response Bus

If you wish to travel anywhere in the St Kilda/Port Melbourne area and have a disability which prevents you from using buses or trams, a hoist-equipped minibus will transport you anywhere (including to Arts Access) in this area to and from Flinders or Spencer Street stations, for the cost of a Metcard. The bus is capable of carrying up to three customers using wheelchairs and four other customers. This service must be booked.

By Tram

Trams are not accessible for people whose mobility is limited

  • Catch Tram number 1, which travels along Swanston Street from Coburg, turns right into Southbank Boulevard, then left into Sturt Street. We are only a few metres from tram stop Number 22 (Dorcas Street). Visit www.swanstontrams.com.au for route information and timetable.
  • Catch Tram number 55 which travels along Kings Way between West Coburg and Domain Road Interchange. Get off at Stop 116 (Sturt Steet Junction) and cross Kings Way into Eastern Road. We are about 50 metres along Eastern Road. Visit www.swanstontrams.com.au or call 131 638 for travel information and advice.
  • Catch Tram number 112 which travels between West Preston and St Kilda, and alight on Clarendon Street and Dorcas Street. Travel down Dorcas Street and Eastern Road is the third street on the right. Visit www.yarratrams.com.au/ for timetable and route information.

Please note these trams are NOT suitable for use by wheelchair users, as they require passengers to step up and down.

By Train

Unfortunately there is not an accessible train station close Arts Access Victoria, but you can book the Demand Response Bus. The nearest train stations are Flinders Street or Spencer Street. Walking or motoring to Arts Access will take about 20 to 25 minutes from either station.
