Catherine Leos

Position: Communications Manager

Catherine Leos has over 15 years experience working in the arts and screen industry, in the areas of marketing, sponsorship and event management. In 2001, Catherine coordinated the inaugural Alfred Deakin Lectures for the Federation Festival, as well as the Program Launch, Opening Night celebrations and Festival Forums for the Melbourne International Arts Festival (including the Famous Spiegeltent’s first Melbourne visit). She has worked for the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra, where she was responsible for developing and implementing the Orchestra’s new Philanthropy Program (including the Patrons Program); Museum Victoria; The Bell Shakespeare Company; and the 2006 Melbourne Commonwealth Games. Catherine was the Marketing & Development Manager at Open Channel for three years, where she was responsible for the promotion and marketing of OC’s short courses and accredited training program. She was also responsible for managing OC’s screen industry programs and events such as the monthly Framed seminar series and the Short & Sharp Pitching Competition (for Film Victoria), the Love Your Work! Short Film Competition, the Raw Nerve screenings (for Screen Australia), Video Slam! (for Arts Law Week) and Talking Docklands (for City of Melbourne), as well as Open Channel’s 2007 Docklands launch attended by 600 screen industry representatives.

Catherine has a Bachelor of Arts (Hons) degree and a Post Graduate Diploma in Media Studies.
