HEIST eGallery is Arts Access Victoria’s new online gallery, showcasing the work of artists with and without a disability.

The aim behind HEIST eGallery was to create an art gallery which exists in a virtual space providing accessible and meaningful engagement opportunities with a variety of visual art forms.

It is hoped that this online gallery will provide necessary professional development opportunities for artists to present their work and have it reach a wide audience in the public sphere, raising the profile of artists who have a disability and creating opportunities for peer review and critique.

“Our vision for HEISTeGallery is that it will help broker new relationships between the arts sector, artists and art consumers”, explains Fiona Cook, Arts Access Victoria’s Artistic Program Manager.

HEIST’s mission is to provide a professional opportunity for exhibit work by Artists who have a disability; to be innovative and responsive to the needs of Artists who have a disability in providing a diverse range of services through the Artistic program; to introduce a unique gallery space into the art sector which is capable of exhibiting a broad range of visual works; and to connect with a broader audience.

The HEIST inaugural exhibition is VIEWPOINTS, an exhibition of work by Victorian artists who live with or have been affected by mental health issues.
