AAV’s response to the National Cultural Policy
20 October 2011
The Australian government is seeking views from organisations and sectors on the National Cultural Policy . Submissions close on Friday 21 October.
The National Cultural Policy is government’s ‘10-year vision for the nation’, so it’s important that it provide the framework and strategies to improve the participation of people with disability in art and culture.
Arts Access Victoria held a Roundtable on Monday 10 October to inform its response to government. The Roundtable was attended by 30 people who were all really engaged in the discussion and had lots to say! Two questions were posed:
- Does the National Cultural Policy have any significance for artists with a disability?
- How do we make sure the National Cultural Policy (NCP) strengthens the delivery of the National Arts and Disability Strategy (NADS)?
Building on the Roundtable, AAV has drafted its response to government. To download AAV’s submission and our recommendations, please click on the link below -
