Painting Element Series: Form

Artist Jane Trengove (& former AAV Access Manager!) is having a much-awaited exhibition Under Study at Sutton Gallery.

Under Study is part of Jane’s Painting Element Series, an ongoing project that deals with the predicament of painting in contemporary visual culture. With these new works Jane presents the element of form and deploys a dialogue between photography and painting.

Jane has shown extensively in Australia and has regularly exhibited with Sutton Gallery since 1995.

In 2000 Jane undertook a studio residency in Los Angeles through the Australia Council for the Arts. She has received various commissions, including Legal Aid Victoria Collection (2005), Australia Post (2003-04) and BreastScreen, Victoria (2000). Trengrove’s work is held in many public and private collections including Artbank, Sydney; Monash University Collection, Melbourne; and National Gallery of Victoria, Melbourne.
