ART DAY SOUTH ARTISTS SELECTED FOR NATIONAL EXHIBITION

25 May 2011

Arts Access Victoria is thrilled to announce that Art Day South artists Joceline Lee and Kristy Sweeney have been chosen to participate in the AART.BOXX exhibition, presented by Accessible Arts and the Sydney College of Art.

Joceline (who is also a JUMP mentoree) and Kristy are two of only 12 artists selected from across Australia who will be showcased in a group exhibition from October 20 to November 5.

AART.BOXX is a national survey exhibition of current visual arts practices by Australian artists with disability. The exhibition aims to extend and challenge discourses within contemporary art by highlighting art practices informed by cultures of disability.

Artists selected for AART.BOXX 11 are eligible for a $4000 professional development scholarship. Whilst highlighting excellence in contemporary visual arts, this award serves to further the career opportunities of the winning artist. The recipient of the AART.BOXX scholarship will be announced at the opening night of the exhibition on Thursday 20 October 2011.
