Top Designs presents exceptional work by Victorian VCE students who completed Design and Technology, Food and Technology, Media, System Engineering, Visual communication and designs, and VET Digital Interactive media.

Works range from fashion, furniture, photography, film, graphic design portfolios and food planning to mechanical and electronic projects.  As participants move through the gallery space the setting for each piece will be explained and those who wish to will have the chance to handle selected items. Fabric samples will also be used to enhance the description of fashion designs.

Top Designs forms part of the annual VCE Season of Excellence, which showcases a representative sample of outstanding student work from the previous year’s design, technology, media, and visual and performing arts subjects, in Melbourne’s major cultural venues. The festival aims to establish a benchmark for students currently undergoing VCE and to engage the public with the outstanding work.

This year the VCE Season of Excellence festival is increasing its accessibility through disability access programs. Top Arts at the NGV (National Gallery of Victoria) is holding an Audio Described Tour, 10:30 on 11 May with the Curator.
