Rachel Taylor

After completing a Bachelor of Arts in Photography at RMIT University, I have practiced in a variety of photography fields including documentary, fashion, fine art, annual reports, performing arts and teaching. I have received numerous photography awards including gold and silver awards from the AIPP. Since 2003 I have been involved with many projects that utilise photography as a tool for community, cultural and environmental development which has led me to my current postgraduate study of Community Cultural Development at the Victorian College of the Art and Music . Through photography, I seek to explore themes of identity, culture and community in ways that develop critical understanding and cultural empowerment. I am considered amongst my peers as a “community development photographer”.
