Artist’s Statement
Woman’s Journey
Pregnancy. Everything in a woman’s body is changing. The hormones race as the embryo grows, gaining its own identity as mother and child begin their journey together. A wondrous journey.
Emotions
Anybody who’s experienced racing thoughts knows that emotions can overwhelm you. I try to express my emotions by attacking a canvas with paint and mediums, scratching, applying texture and making strong, deliberate marks.
The viewer may not experience the same emotions when they look at my work, that’s OK by me.
