Girish Makwana
Girish Makwana was born in Gujurat, India and received his Masters of Music from the Maharajah Sayajirao University of Baroda. In 1999 he became the first musician from an Indian classical background to be accepted into the Ph.D. program at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music, with the aim of producing an electronic version of the tabla tarang, a rare and neglected percussion instrument. Girish has performed in various countries around the world (Europe, New Zealand, Singapore, Kenya, Tanzania and South Africa) in various festivals and concerts, including the Sydney Festival, Berlin Festival, University of Sydney, University of Wollongong, Illawara Music Festival, Earthcore and Darebin Music Festival.
He has performed with a variety of musicians from many backgrounds, from Indian classical to jazz, Western classical and electronica. Indian classical musicians he has performed with include Pandit Kamlesh Maitra (tabla tarang), Manahar Udhas (vocal), Pt. Purshottam Upaddhay (vocal), Pt. Suvranlata Rao (sitar), Mrs Kanchan Verma (Sarod) and Mr. Nicolas Buff (Saprano Saxophone). Has also worked with Nigel MacLean, musician and composer of short film “Forged” and Dale Cornelius musician and composer of doco. film ” John Gollings, Eye For Architecture”.

Interchange Outer East
IOE is a non profit, community based support service for people with disabilities who live in Melbourne’s outer eastern region. Services include respite, recreational, social support and post school programs.
IOE provides opportunities for all community members to contribute through a range of volunteering options.
Interchange actively works to make connections with other community agencies, businesses and groups to foster a sense of inclusion and to create more opportunities for people to connect with their community.

Sign Language Communications Victoria (SLC VIC)
Auslan Interpreter Booking System providing:
- Interpreting services between Australian Sign Language (Auslan) and English.
- Notetaking services at events in which Deaf and hearing impaired people are attending and where information will be shared. Notetakers are often booked for meetings, student lectures and tutorials.
- Deaf relay interpreting services where the relay interpreter repeats, or relays an Auslan message from one Deaf person to another. They do not work between spoken English and Auslan as do Auslan interpreters. Deaf relay interpreters are often used at meetings where Deafblind or Deaf people with vision impairments are in attendance. Most relay interpreters are Deaf.

Awakenings Arts Festival
Held annually in Horsham, the festival provides an inclusive community event that is committed to improving access to the arts for all abilities.
The Awakenings Festival has received a prestigious Australia Council for the Arts Community Partnerships Committee grant to host Back to Back Theatre’s residency in Horsham for the Awakenings Festival 2010, 20 – 24 October 2010.

PANDA
PANDA is a national, not-for-profit organization that was formed in Victoria in 1985. PANDA’s national Helpline provides confidential information, support and referral to anyone affected by depression and anxiety during pregnancy and after childbirth (perinatal depression and anxiety), including partners, family members and friends. PANDA also produces and distributes accurate information about perinatal depression and anxiety to health professionals and the wider community.

The Mental Health Services website lists all the mental health services and agencies across Victoria.
The Mental Health Advice Line is a state-wide telephone information service available to all Victorians seeking mental health information, advice and referral for themselves or another person.
The service is for Victorians of all ages and from all backgrounds. You can call about yourself, a friend or a family member and you may remain anonymous if you wish.
The service is staffed by mental health professionals who provide expert mental health advice 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, including public holidays.
